 Did You Know? The Nascar Speedway Chaplain is a part of every practice, race and daily life of the drivers on and off the track. Since the majority of races are held on Sunday there are church services set up for the drivers, families and pit crews so all have the option to continue church while traveling on the road. This year Cannon Racing Motorsports wanted to highlight the Speedway Chaplain. We would like to introduce Pastor Rick Lemons who serves Forney Texas as Pastor of Fellowship Baptist.
Rick Lemons is the pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church located in Forney, Texas. He graduated from the Criswell College in Dallas Texas in 1987 with a degree in Biblical Studies. He is the author of the book, "From Pit Row to Victory Lane." Under his leadership, Fellowship Baptist of Forney has grown from 7 active members in 1977 to over 1500 today. Rick's interest in NASCAR led him to develop a parallel between competing race teams and the life of a Christian. Rick has been married to his wife Ann since November 1976. They have three children and two grandchildren. Rick enjoys outdoor sports such as NASCAR, golf and skiing. He practices the spiritual disciplines addressed in this book in his personal life and has discovered that life is best when shared with others. The Lemons make their home in Texas.
